Fiat’s awesome rooftop racetrack.

Did you know that the Fiat factory in Lingotto had a racetrack on top of the building? The idea came from Italian engineer Giacomo Mattè-Trucco, and construction took place between 1916 and 1923.

The factory was built around the concept that on each floor there was another part of the assembly. Once the car was completed and left the assembly lines, they could flow directly upward to the test track.
